Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis) - Effective treatment with ionic colloidal silver
What is pink eye?
Pink eye is inflammation of the conjunctiva (clear membrane covering the white of the eye and inner eyelid). Makes white part of affected eye(s) look pink or red.
When caused by a virus (most common) or bacteria it is highly infectious. Wash hands frequently to prevent spreading to both eyes, and anyone else’s eyes.
Symptoms of pink eye
Pink eye can cause:
- Redness
- Itching / Irritation / possible burning sensation
- Swelling of the eyelid
- Watery eyes
- White sticky discharge (with bacterial conjunctivitis). Eyelashes stick together after sleep.
Causes of pink eye
Usual causes of pink eye:
- Viral infection (Viral conjunctivitis). Most common
- Bacterial infection (Bacterial conjunctivitis). Typically either staphylococcus or streptococcus
- Allergens (Allergic conjunctivitis). Typically pet dander, mold, pollen in contact with eye
- Chemical irritants (Chemical conjunctivitis). Eye contact with smoke, dust, chlorine or other toxic chemical
Often spread by:
- Touching eyes with unclean hands (common with children)
- Contaminated / old eye make-up
Simple effective treatment
Ionic Colloidal Silver (ICS) (Can make at home using the SOTA Silver Pulser and distilled water). Put a couple drops of ICS in affected eye every 4 hours or so. Doesn’t hurt and typically clears up the eye in one day!
Ease swelling with warm compress over affected eyelid(s)
