– Thomas Edison
In a nutshell, health is achieved by living life using a natural, time-tested approach, being armed with some proven knowledge of what is health-beneficial and what is not 🙂 – and yes – also adhering to our inherent common sense! Following a natural way of life whilst attending to some specific details has kept this author virtually free of health problems — Now in my later years 🙂 , I have visited a doctor only for giving birth, annual checkups and one instance with a painful trapped nerve (eventually self-treated with hot pepper cream!).
How do we restore and maintain our health?
Recognize that symptoms are warning signs of an underlying problem
The “band-aid” approach of only treating symptoms no more cures their underlying health problems than turning off the oil pressure warning light in your car fixes a problem of low oil pressure.
Symptoms usually manifest as the body’s best efforts to defend and heal itself from the actual problem, such as infection, trauma, deficiencies, excesses or other stresses:
High blood pressure. Ensures essential movement of blood.
High cholesterol. Indicates that uncontrolled oxidants are weakening your arterial walls to the extent that your body is having to patch the damaged areas to prevent you from bleeding out.
Fever / inflammation. Isolates, heats up and destroys infective agents or foreign matter. Having a temperature opens skin pores to allow toxins to leave the body via sweating.
Pain. Forces you to immobilize problem areas.
Discharges. E.g. The cough is a protective mechanism to clear breathing passages.
Diarrhea. Speeds up removal of pathogens and toxins.
Understand why we are having so many health problems
The bottom line in any health problem is that our cells are not producing enough energy to do their jobs efficiently and our immune system is being overwhelmed.
Responsible factors include such as:
Lack of: oxygen, good energy sources, important nutrients (e.g. antioxidants, good fats, fiber), sunlight, exercise or sleep.
Too many toxins in our bodies: including damaged fats, chemicals, harmful electromagnetic manmade frequencies;
Likely coupled with: emotional / physical stress.
Address the causes of health problems and make choices to stay well
Use cures that . . .
- Are not toxic to the body
- Work with and do not tear down the body’s inherent health-protective systems.
In our world, health doesn’t just happen on its own. If you are serious about living well- not just living, this site provides some down-to-earth tools to help you with that goal.
