Corns

What is a corn?

  • Buildup of hard skin usually near bony area of toes or between toes.
  • Look waxy, discolored, round

Causes of corns

  • Likely caused by ill-fitting shoes, especially without enough room for toes
  • Not wearing socks

Treatment

  • Do not cut off! – Attempt to gently remove corn with pumice or emery board, pressing in one direction only
  • Grapefruit Seed Extract.     Put 1 drop full strength GSE on the corn 1-2 times daily.
  • Transdermal Magnesium Chloride (footbath or rub in diluted enough not to sting) – softens skin
  • Keep feet dry
  • Wear socks
  • Wear proper fitting shoes with ample toe room, soft uppers and low heels

  • Wear proper fitting shoes that reduce pressure under forefeet, soft uppers and low, supportive heels
