Warnings for using grapefruit seed extract (GSE)
- Never take GSE full-strength!    Always dilute with water or juice and prepare Citricidal / Maximum strength GSE according to dosage recommendations.
- Any mixtures that are used for spraying should be mixed very thoroughly before spraying and between sprayings.  GSE has a tendency to settle to the bottom after sitting for long periods of time thus making it stronger towards the bottom of container.
- If GSE gets into the eyes, flush them out immediately with plenty of water (warm if possible) for 15 minutes.
- After an excessive ingestion of GSE, drink plenty of water.    Consult a physician if necessary.
- If you have ulcers or a sensitive stomach take GSE after meals.  Until stomach adjusts to the extract and then you can take it independent of meals. Note: Ulcers are very sensitive to irritation, caution must be taken when using GSE if irritation persists discontinue use, as ulcers can be a very serious condition.
- If you are allergenic, a patch test is recommended to be sure you are not allergic to GSE.
- If your water source is heavily mineralized or chlorinated slightly increase dosages.
Questions, answers and tips for using GSE

How long can I safely take grapefruit extract?    You can safely take GSE over a long period, if needed, without any worry of toxicity. People have taken GSE every day for years (as a preventative) without side-effects of any kind. An example of a need for long-term use is for a long- standing parasite infection, which could take quite some time to overcome.
Does GSE interfere with High Blood Pressure Medication?   There are NO reports of any drug interactions or contraindications of any kind. Drinking fresh grapefruit juice or eating grapefruits when taking certain medications has increased medication absorption, but GSE contains 0.1% or less of the compounds that cause this phenomenon.
Herxheimer Reaction.    It is advisable to start with smaller doses of GSE and increase slowly. When bacteria, fungi, or other pathogens begin to die, toxins are set free, which can possibly cause headaches, nausea and fatigue that can last several weeks. If such a reaction occurs, it isrecommended that you decrease the dose or keep it low and increase it very slowly, adjusting as necessary to reach a maintenance level.
