What's in the Collagen Flaxiccino?
This delicious frothy smoothie combines the C-ollagen Flaxiccino with a daily dose of flaxseed and supporting nutrients facilitating just one dietary addition to your day providing maintenance level nutrients necessary to promote physical and mental health. It contains:
- High-dose Vitamin C with added collagen-making amino acids. These are found in the so-called Rath-Pauling therapy at the “Somewhere in the middle” maintenance-level that can be adjusted to your specific need. Vitamin C is a crucially important antioxidant (especially concentrated in brain tissues) and the added amino-acids Lysine and Proline are used to build collagen in the body’s connective tissues, involved in CVD, arthritis, osteoporosis and more.
- 3 T Flaxseed per person – provides 1T maintenance dose of omega-3 oil plus fiber and lignans. This is the maximum daily dose, so do not add to other recipes for the day.

How to make Collagen Flaxiccino
Recipe is for 2 people – proportionally adjust for 1 person or more than 2 people
This smoothie contains an ADULT preventative maintenance dose of the Rath-Pauling therapy (1.5g vitamin C / day with appropriate amounts of the amino acids L-lysine and L-proline).
Important!
- The C-ollagen Flaxiccino should be consumed at least 2 hours before or after taking a marine oil supplement or consuming any ‘O3-Fix’ BUDWIG PROTOCOL recipe. This is to prevent interference with the therapeutic activity of their O3 fatty acids
Lysine has a taste which some may find unpleasant – to turn this around, this recipe has some additions that actually make the drink taste delightful – honest!
Instructions
Takes less than 10 minutes to make if you have your BLENDER OUT and INGREDIENTS READILY ACCESSIBLE (with measuring spoons) in your fridge or nearby cabinet
Add ALL chosen ingredients to a powerful container blender (a Vitamix works best) – then blend:
- ~24 oz. glass of ice filled with Spring or filtered water
- Choose a couple of fresh or frozen soft fruit (e.g. guava, kiwi, ½-1 orange (leave some peel for its antioxidants), pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, mango (leave some peel, high polyphenol content), blueberries, etc.). An orange helps cut the taste of Lysine powder.
- 1/2 – 1 banana
- 1-2 tsp. organic, raw honey (if not adding banana)
- 2″ ginger root (optional – anti-inflammatory polyphenols, adds a shot of zing! )
- A handful of spinach leaves (optional – for magnesium, calcium+)
- 2 tsp. beet powder (optional – vitamin B complex)
- ¼ tsp. pure vanilla essence (optional – anti-inflammatory)
- 1-2 Tbsp. organic whey protein ¤ or add a spoonful of organic yogurt. Adds creaminess
Rath-Pauling therapy ingredients for providing vitamin C and building collagen at an average maintenance / preventative adult dose level of 1.5 g vitamin C
- 2/3 tsp. vitamin C powder E.g. Amazon
- 1 ¾ tsp. Lysine powder E.g. Amazon
- 1/4 tsp. Proline powder. E.g. Amazon.
Lastly, add:
- 6 Tbsp. whole organic flaxseeds. (2 ½ T / person). The blender should be powerful enough to grind them. Start at a low speed to give them chance to mix into the liquid, then increase the speed. This is the maximum daily dose of flaxseeds and should not be added to any other recipe for the day.
Serve in tall 24 oz glasses and immediately enjoy
¤ Whey protein powder specifics – COLD-PROCESSED (can be low-heat pasteurized) from RAW, ORGANIC (at least Non-GMO) Grass-fed cows’ milk. Heads-up!
This is a deceptively powerful therapy that will go to work on you right from the start. Be prepared for some detox symptoms, called the Herxheimer Reaction. These can be experienced as feeling tired, a slight fever, headache, diarrhea, pain in joints, muscles bones, nausea, rashes and more. May last several days or even weeks, but stay with it and you’ll be a new person!

Iodine – In the early morning
Take in a little water, juice or milk at least 2 hours away from taking C-ollagen Flaxiccino.
- 1 drop 2% Lugol’s iodine (provides a maintenance dose of ~3 mg iodine + iodide. The Lugols’ page explains how to start with a higher dose to deal with a likely deficiency)
Omega-3 EPA / DHA supplements – Take at least 2 hours away from Iodine or supplemental vitamin C
The Omega-3 EPA / DHA form of omega-3 fatty acids is necessary for most all of us, since many issues, especially our age, interfere with conversion rate of plant-sourced omega-3 ALA to EPA / DHA. However, if you regularly consume two portions of oily fish per week you are probably meeting your need for EPA / DHA. The high-oil-content fish include salmon, trout, mackerel, tuna (skipjack is less toxic). Eating fish for omega-3
- 1 or 2 -1000mg fish oil capsule. Wild salmon oil is an excellent choice since it is not chemically processed.
- or 3-500 mg Antarctic krill oil
- or ½ tsp. quality cod liver oil
(can take a proportional combination e.g. 1 -1000 mg fish oil and 2 – 500 mg Krill oil)
Daily sunbath for Vitamin D – Ideally between 10 am and 2pm:
Magnesium “treat” – somewhere during your day:
- A small bar of chocolate – magnesium (E.g. 4.25 oz Milk Chocolate bar w/ almonds provides102mg natural magnesium).
Other supplements – Take with main meal:
- 400 mg magnesium (as chelated magnesium supplement E.g. Swanson Ultra Albion Magnesium Glycinate or prefer transdermal magnesium chloride (less convenient but fast, effective, cheap and bypasses GI tract). (Highly functional mineral, also for omega-3 conversion enzymes)
- Zinc – 8 mg (W) or 11 mg (M). Prefer zinc citrate, chelate, acetate, mono-methionine or gluconate (for omega-3 conversion enzymes)
- Selenium – 200 mcg seleno-methionine or consume 4-6 Brazil nuts
- Vitamin A – supplement or include A-rich foods
- Vitamin B-complex – prefer sublingual form (for omega-3 conversion enzymes)
- Vitamin E – supplement 400 IU mixed gamma-tocopherol. Protects O3 fatty acids in cell membranes from oxidation
- Vitamin K – K1 in spinach, K2 in fermented foods (natto, sauerkraut), aged cheese – K2 puts calcium where it belongs in bones and teeth, not in soft tissue, such as your arteries. Can supplement K2.
